Review: Director Alexander Payne Sideways (2004) and About Schmidt (2002) deftly handles road-movie plot structure again with dark humor and satirical depictions of contemporary American society, that gives great results yet again, as a heartfelt journey to explore their fragile and unexpected characters. Payne himself is a Nebraska native who felt strongly that the movie will be filmed in black and white to capture the ambience of the old American heart, and for the film to get funding from Paramount, he had to take to make do with a smaller budget. As a result, Payne films and cast film in societies with actual residents that give a realistic texture to family bonding story. Nebraska is a humorous and heart-rendering story of family, but it also sheds a light on the people of America's heartland, and our country economically, morally and culturally decline.Nebraska begins as a road movie, with a father and son traveling from Billings, Montana to Lincoln, Nebraska. David (Will Forte) has decided to pamper her father Woody (Bruce Dern), who is struggling with dementia, and thinks he can pick up his $ 1 million profit from a newspaper DISTRIBUTORI Lincoln. Along the way, they stop for the weekend in Hawthorne, Dern's hometown, where they are joined by his wife (June Squibb), and his second son (Bob Odenkirk) from your stereotypical Midwestern relatives and friends, all of whom are very interested in, learn that theres now a millionaire before them.The key relationship between Derna stubbornly credulous father and Fortes passively annoyed son gradually deepens as the film makes its way through middle America. Nebraska when an emotional conclusion echoes of About Schmidt and The Descendants (2011) with an underlying sense of life largely wasted, but handled with grace and finesse that feels Congenital true. Nebraska is another finely tuned, superior disc films by Alexander Payne, who achieve a more mature, sentimental tone than previous films. The all-around great performances from the actors and support non-professional actors gives an unmistakable authenticity of this piece of Americana.
