Review: I went to Anchor waiting for another super-mainstream, lowest common denominator, joke SNL-derived. Now these arent the worst movie in the world, to be sure. Happy Gilmore and Old School is very pleasant ways to pass the time. But usually these things for about an hour, I've had enough amplitude and predictability one begins be absolutely overwhelming. Not only they are lowbrow - they are so convincing conventional.Luckily unfortunately, is not what is Anchor. Anchor is a refreshing ride bogus unlikely source - Will Ferrell, the current reigning Lord of the middle-of-the-way Fratboy Sandlerism. The film has more in common with Mel Brooks and Zucker-Abrahams-Zucker anything else in genealogy SNL. That's stupid and absurd premiums out-and-out bathroom humor and penis jokes (although there is a lot of it, do not worry), and took it admirably. Basically, the key to these things never leave out the goofiness to the other - the public should never allow anything seriously.Anchorman make your very silly and bizarre dialogue should be a killer comedic performances Ferrell, Paul Rudd , Vince Vaughn, and Steve Carell. You would be lobotomized maintain a straight face via a line, for example, those with little real Panther. So you know it's good. and I'm riding a big furry tractor! The direction and pace is also very difficult at times, and celebrity cameos required are very well done (especially one scene in particular that I Not Made , the dream of ruin). The film is not without flaws, of course. The main one is losing one of the best actors of comic biz Fred Willard character. If ever there was someone who was born to play the sycophant local TV journalist, is Willard. But he is inexplicably launch station here so lame in a suit, but David Koechner plods through sports paper that was clearly made for him - solid, but certainly not so inspired about Willard should have been. Also, I think the story would have benefited if Vaughn and his cronies, the closest thing the villains in this silly joke was a bit more expensive time.But they are relatively minor issues - is that we Ferrel as something that is really funny, in a way that is significantly different from the endless mill SNL movie. It's not Monty Python, but it is a healthy departure from what has become a mainstream comics. More importantly, the laughs are frequent, long and deep - check and you will not be disappointed.
